Dong Hoi Airport

This airport is only 6 km far from the central Dong Hoi city from the North and about 50 km from Phong Nha – Ke Bang in Quang Binh province from the West North. From the airport, tourists can choose taxi, bus, private car of xe om to get to the city centre or Phong Nha – Ke Bang.

• Xe om

The cost to take a motorbike taxi from Dong Hoi airport to Dong Hoi city central is about 40,000 t0 50,000 VND ($2 – $3) while it will cost around 100,000 VND ($5) for transfer from the airport to Phong Nha – Ke Bang. The cost is mostly based on your bargaining skill.

• Taxi

There are many taxi brands in the airport; however, you should choose trusted brands in order to avoid unexpected scams. The price ranges from 12,000 VND to 17,000 VND per kilometer.

• Private car

There are travel agencies or private companies which providing the service of transferring from Dong Hoi airport to the central of Dong Hoi city or to other towns. The price depends on the type of car or van as well as the distance between the airport and passenger’s destination.

• Bus

There are no bus connecting Dong Hoi airport and Phong Nha – Ke Bang; therefore, you need to take a vehicle to move from the airport to city central, and then booking a bus to get to Phong Nha. You take the bus route no.B4 (Dong Hoi – Phong Nha) which starts at Quang Phu commune and stop at Phong Nha tourist centre. The bus is available every 45 minutes and the price is from 10,000 VND to 35,000 VND (about 50 cent US – $1.5).
