Hydrofoil to Cat Ba Island

Dubbed “the Pearl of the Gulf Tonkin”, Cat Ba Island has attracted a large number of both domestic and international tourists thanks to its pristine and majestic beauty. Travelling to the island, tourists can not only admire its grandeur but also participate in a great deal of activities such as swimming, kayaking, snorkeling, climbing, and fishing.
Cat Ba Island, or Pearl Island, is the largest one in the total of 1,969 islands in Halong Bay. Covering an area of nearly 300 square kilometers, Cat Ba is an archipelago of 367 small and big islands including Cat Ba Island – the largest and other small islands such as Cat Ong, Cat Duoi, May, Quai Xanh, Tai Keo, etc. Administratively, Cat Ba Archipelago belongs to the territory of Cat Hai District, Hai Phong City. It is located to the south of Halong Bay, about 30km from the center of Hai Phong City and 25km from Halong City.

Getting there you will need to take ferry from Tuan Chau Island, Cruise trip from Lan Ha Bay or taking hydrofoil from Hai Phong. Hoang Long Transportation

An other way is to take speed boat Dinh Vu ferry to Cai Vieng then bus trip 45 min to Cat Ba town. Hoang Long company also offer bus, boat, bus trip from Hanoi and back.
